The local Council had undertaken traffic and transport studies to identify that this intersection requires upgrades to make it both safer and compatible with projected future traffic growth in the region. There have also been some concerns for this intersection from a Black Spot point of view.

Partnear was engaged with the goal being to fast track the design process as much as possible. We flew one of our drones to capture aerial data which we then processed to create a preliminary surface to base the design on while concurrently engaging a feature surveyor to carry out a detailed feature survey of the intersection. The 3D design model was later updated to match into the feature surveyor 3D output. This methodology meant that the client was able to receive a set of functional design plans much quicker than a traditional design approach.
